Five of Them Make 120 kW: Six Foton TUNLAND Pickups Read With Power Held Constant

Writer:Alan Chen(Foton Auman dealer)

Five of the six pickups below publish the same power figure: 120 kW. Same engine family, same capacity, same number. Yet they are listed from $18,000 to $33,884, they span four emission standards, their kerb weights differ by 515 kg and one of them has no engine at all. When the headline number is constant, the purchase is decided entirely by the numbers underneath it.

So this page holds power still and moves everything else. Six TUNLAND pickups from the pickup category, read against the five things that actually separate them.

The constant, and then the five variables

The V7 and the V9 share an announcement number, a body and an engine. The difference is 50 kg and the rear suspension.

Variable 1: the emission standard, which tracks nothing else

The TUNLAND S is Euro II. The G7 automatic is Euro III. The V9, the V7 and the TUNLAND E are Euro IV. That ordering does not follow price, power, size or equipment — it follows the market each sheet was written for, and it is the first thing to check against what your own registrar will accept.

The TUNLAND S also carries the only Cummins engine in this group: an ISF2.8s2161P of 2,780 ml producing 120 kW and 360 N·m between 1,800 and 3,000 rpm, against the Foton 4F20 family's 1,968 ml and 415 N·m. Less torque from more capacity, on a 3.91 final drive, with drum rear brakes and ABS + EBD. Its sheet was written for Sierra Leone and its declared uses are mining and construction commuting, mobile resupply and field inspection. $25,000.

Variable 2: the body, which decides whether five people fit

Body width runs from 1,800 mm on the TUNLAND E to 2,090 mm on the V9 and the V7. All six are double cabs with five seats and all six publish the same 1,520 × 1,580 × 440 mm cargo box except the two 2,090 mm trucks, which publish 1,577 / 1,650 / 530 mm. The wider body is also the longer one: 5,617 mm overall against 5,310 to 5,340 mm, on a 3,355 mm wheelbase against 3,105 to 3,110 mm.

G7: 1,940 mm wide, 5,340 mm long, 1,520 mm box, four-wheel disc brakes and ESP.
Foton TUNLAND E 4x4 manual gasoline pickup
E: the narrowest and lightest of the six at 1,800 mm and 1,820 kg, and the only petrol engine.

Variable 3: two badges, one announcement number

The V9 and the V7 are filed under the same announcement number, BJ1037V2MAV-T2. Both are 5,617 × 2,090 × 1,955 mm on a 3,355 mm wheelbase, both carry the 4F20TC43 at 120 kW and 415 N·m to Euro IV, both run the ZF 8HP50 eight-speed automatic, both have front and rear disc brakes with ESP and 265/70R18 tyres, both publish a 3,055 kg gross vehicle weight and both list a 14.6-inch screen, an electric 8-way heated driver's seat and a spray-in bed liner. Two things differ. Kerb weight: 2,335 kg on the V9 against 2,285 kg on the V7, a 50 kg gap. And the rear suspension: a multi-link integral bridge on the V9 against a leaf spring on the V7. The V9 is $2,000 dearer.

Variable 4: what the cheapest one gives up

The TUNLAND E is $5,800 below the next cheapest and the differences are specific rather than general. It is the only petrol engine here: a Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi 4G69S4N of 2,378 ml producing 100 kW at 5,250 rpm and 200 N·m between 2,500 and 3,500 rpm, to Euro IV. It is the lightest at 1,820 kg kerb and 2,820 kg gross, with axle ratings of 1,310 kg front and 1,850 kg rear on a 4.556 final drive — the numerically lowest gearing here. Brakes are front disc and rear drum with ABS + EBD rather than the four-wheel disc and ESP of the G7 and V-badged trucks. Tyres are 245/70R16 on alloy wheels with a steel spare. Its interior is described as the 2019 model, with a leather seat that has no height or lumbar adjustment. It does keep MP5, GPS and a reversing camera.

Variable 5: the one with no engine

The e-TUNLAND is the dearest and the heaviest, and it changes every column in the table. Two motors: 26 kW rated and 70 kW peak at the front, 65 kW rated and 150 kW peak at the rear, for 150/340 N·m at the back axle. An 88.02 kWh battery, CCS2 charging at 80 kW fast and 11 kW slow, and a WLTC range of 350 km. Ground clearance is 200 mm, gradeability is 40 per cent, top speed is 140 km/h and the sheet adds vehicle-to-load output — 220 V at 3 kW from the slow-charge port, and DC output from the fast-charge port, both noted as GB standard only. The catch is the payload: 3,200 kg gross against a 2,310 kg kerb leaves a published payload of 515 kg excluding passengers, which is roughly half the useful load of a diesel TUNLAND.

All six publish a 76-litre fuel tank except the electric one, and all six publish four tyres plus a spare except the electric one, which lists 265/65R17 alloys with no spare noted. None of the six publishes a braked towing figure, so if a trailer is part of the job that is a question for the seller rather than something any of these sheets answers.
