Turkmenistan Urban Logistics Trucks: Aumark E60 vs TX5511 vs Aumark S — Running the Numbers

Writer:Alan Chen(Foton Auman dealer)

Buying a light truck for urban and regional distribution in Turkmenistan is an arithmetic problem before it is an engineering one. The cargo-truck listings for the market split neatly into a payload ladder: a 6-tonne class, a 5-to-6-tonne class, and a genuine 12-tonne step up. Three Foton Aumark units are listed for Turkmenistan — the E60 at $11,700, the TX5511 at $12,718 and the Aumark S at $20,000 — and the gap between them is not just size. Run the numbers per tonne of capacity, per unit of power and per litre of tank, and the right choice for your operation usually falls out on its own.

Cost per tonne of capacity

On the only payload figure the listings declare — the Aumark S's 8.4-tonne chassis payload — the S costs $2,381 per tonne of payload. The E60 and TX5511 do not declare a kerb weight, so their payload cannot be computed from the data; what can be compared honestly is price per GVW tonne. On that basis the E60 works out at $1,950 per tonne, the TX5511 at $2,120, and the Aumark S at $1,667 — the 12-tonne truck is the cheapest capacity in the range, per tonne, before a single kilometre is driven.

The arithmetic, shown: $20,000 ÷ 12 t GVW = $1,667/t · $11,700 ÷ 6 t = $1,950/t · $12,718 ÷ 6 t = $2,120/t. On the S's declared payload instead: $20,000 ÷ 8.4 t = $2,381/t — still below what the light pair would cost per payload tonne if their kerb weights land anywhere under 3.6 t and 4.6 t respectively. Kerb weight is the missing input; get it from the dealer in writing.

Power per tonne tells the same story from the other end. The S delivers 125 kW against 12 tonnes GVW — roughly 10.4 kW per tonne — while the E60's 76 kW against 6 tonnes is about 12.7 kW per tonne, and the TX5511's 66.2 kW against 6 tonnes is the weakest ratio of the three at 11 kW per tonne. Torque is where the gap becomes operational: the S's 600 Nm is nearly three times the 225–230 Nm of the light pair. Loaded, on a ramp, with a full box, that difference is the whole driving experience.

What the listings do not tell you — and you must ask

Kerb weight is not declared for the E60 or the TX5511, so real payload for the light pair must come from the dealer. Fuel consumption is not declared for any of the three; what the listings do give you is tank size — 120 litres on both light trucks, 160 on the S — and displacement, which is the roughest possible guide. Before you compare running costs, ask for a stated consumption figure at your typical load and cycle, in writing.

Emissions matter at the border and at registration. The E60 and the S are Euro III; the TX5511 is Euro I — the oldest declaration in the line-up, and part of the reason a 90 PS truck lists above a 76 kW one. If any of your customers, ports or authorities ask for paperwork, the Euro I unit is the first to fall out of the shortlist.

Where each truck earns its money

  • Aumark E60 ($11,700): the entry point. Six tonnes GVW, 3,360 mm wheelbase, hydraulic brakes with ABS, a 4,170 × 1,960 × 400 mm optional box and a three-seat single-row cab. For market delivery, light urban distribution and short regional shuttles it does the job at the lowest capital cost in the range — and it is the only one of the three with hydraulic brakes, which changes the service regime.
  • Aumark TX5511 ($12,718): the same 6-tonne class with air brakes, a load-sensing proportioning valve and a slightly larger 3,612 cc engine — but Euro I and the weakest power-to-weight ratio here. It makes sense only if your dealer can justify the $1,018 premium over the E60 with air-brake durability on your surfaces.
  • Aumark S ($20,000): the step up that changes the business. Twelve tonnes GVW with a declared 8.4-tonne payload, a ZF6S600 gearbox, front-disc air brakes with 4S4M ABS, a 5,600 × 2,300 × 550 mm box, a 4,200 mm wheelbase and 600 Nm. It is the only unit here that can carry a real regional freight load — and per tonne of capacity it is the cheapest of the three.
"The cheapest truck per tonne of capacity in this line-up is the 12-tonne Aumark S. The cheapest truck to buy is the E60. Which one is cheaper for you depends on how many tonnes you actually move per day."

The break-even question

If your operation moves under about 4–5 tonnes per trip, the E60 or TX5511 will do the work and the $7,282–$8,300 saved against the S stays in your pocket. If your loads regularly exceed that — and regional distribution loads tend to grow — the S's declared 8.4-tonne payload means one trip where the light pair would need two, and the purchase price difference closes quickly. Do the arithmetic with your own tonnage, your own daily distance and a consumption figure obtained from the dealer; the listings give you everything except the last two.

People also ask

Which Turkmenistan-listed cargo truck has the lowest purchase price?

The Aumark E60 at $11,700, ahead of the TX5511 at $12,718 and the Aumark S at $20,000. On price per tonne of GVW the S is actually the lowest at about $1,667 per tonne, because it carries twice the capacity.

Do all three trucks have ABS?

The E60 and the S do — the E60 with hydraulic brakes, the S with air brakes and a 4S4M system. The TX5511 lists a load-sensing proportioning valve rather than ABS, which is a meaningful difference on a loaded truck and worth raising with your dealer.

Is the Aumark S's 8.4-tonne payload the real usable figure?

8.4 tonnes is the declared chassis payload against a 12-tonne GVW. Usable payload after body fitment will be lower, and legal axle loads are set by local regulations — confirm the body weight and permitted loads with the dealer and your local authority before ordering.

Can the E60 or TX5511 carry a 6-tonne load?

Not quite. Both are plated at 6 tonnes GVW, and kerb weight is not declared in the listings, so real payload will be materially below 6 tonnes once the body is fitted. Ask the dealer for the kerb weight and payload calculation for your chosen body before you plan loads around the plate.

Why is the TX5511 priced above the E60 despite less power?

The TX5511 lists at $12,718 against the E60's $11,700 with 66.2 kW against 76 kW, but it adds air brakes and a load-sensing proportioning valve where the E60 uses hydraulic brakes, and a larger 3,612 cc engine. The trade is braking system and displacement against power — decide which matters more on your surfaces.

Which gearbox is best for city work?

All three are 5-speed manuals. The S's ZF6S600 with a 4.875 ratio is the smoothest match to a 12-tonne load and the only one with a mainstream brand behind it; the Wanliyang units in the light pair are simple and adequate for urban duty. Parts availability for each should be confirmed locally before ordering.

Are the listed prices delivered?

No. They are vehicle prices from the product data. Body build, freight, insurance, duty and registration sit on top — and with the E60's optional box dimensions listed at 4,170 × 1,960 × 400 mm, body cost is a real variable between these trucks. Get a delivered quotation against your port.
